That's how copying a file over a network in Windows 8 looks like.
Peek reported speed – 44 megabytes/s, mean speed – 4Mb/s, that's over 11g connection (54Mbit/s).
What's happening behind the curtains is antivirus checks, I guess.
That's not Win8-only {issue}. That's everywhere {with antivirus installed}. Win8, however, gives a nice {yet useless} graph. Time remaining in this case looks like a random number.
